Moose Shot on High School Steps
A couple days ago a moose was hanging out on the steps of Homer High School. School officials tried to shoo it away, but it became agitated, so they called the police. The police came and shot it dead, in front of the high school, during school hours. Only in Alaska, huh? A moose was also hit and killed in another high school parking lot this week. The moose kill count on the roads in Alaska (might just be the Kenai Peninsula) was 110 a couple weeks ago, but as the winter goes on, grows higher and higher. We see so many moose we hardly blink anymore, though they are too large and unpredictable to ignore.
