A Visit by Sandhill Crane Colts

We regularly have sandhill cranes wander through our yard and neighborhood, but a few days ago was the first time we had colts come as well. It was a treat to watch them from my front deck!

I just found your blog. My husband and I will be returning to retire in Kasilof (or maybe Homer area) next August. We need to purge a lot of things before we leave. I am not looking forward to the trip up the AlCan but pulling a U-Haul and our Subaru behind is the most cost effective (cheapest!) way. I enjoy reading your blog...it makes me homesick! Keep writing. I think you have a lot more followers, they just don't comment.

Take care Cate <><

I've been going nuts this summer running about on adventures and normal Alaskan summer activities like fishing and berry picking, and haven't found a spare hour to blog. Just last night I was writing my to-do list for today and wrote "Blog" then added a question mark, then crossed it out. Your comment came at just the right moment to keep me going, and I think the bulk of my adventures are done as I start winding down to the beginning of the schoolyear! Let's see if I can make it happen. Thank you for your kind words!
